There's no Modi wave in India, says actor Nagma in MP rally

Indore:  Actress-turned-politician Nagma, who is the Congress Lok Sabha candidate from Meerut, has said there is no “Modi wave” in the country.“The BJP is saying that there is Modi wave. I say that there is

During the election rally organised in the stronghold of state Cabinet minister Kailash Vijaywargiya and his supporter and BJP MLA Ramesh Mendola, Nagma reiterated the Congress' demand for a CBI probe in the PEB scam.

“The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh believes that after the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, the BJP-led government would be formed at the Centre, then what is he scared of? Why is he not getting the PEB scam probed by the CBI? she asked.

Stating that there was high-level corruption in the state, she said during raids at the residences of employees here, crores of rupees were being found.

“If there is a raid on the residences of ministers, then would something not be found? Some ministers in the state are already in the Lokayukta net,” she said.

Appealing the people to vote for Congress, Nagma said her party does not discriminate people on the basis of caste and creed, but works for development of the country by taking along people from all classes, communities and religion.

Because of the Congress' policies, things like mobile phones, computers, two-wheelers, which were earlier only considered a luxury, are now a daily necessity for people and are easily available, she said.

“The Congress has provided people with MNREGA, Right to Information, food security, voting right to youths attaining the age of 18 years, land acquisition and rehabilitation act, and development-oriented programmes like Jan Lokpal against corruption.

“That is why, only Congress can provide a better government for the country's development,” she added.
