Pathankot: Railway police today claimed to have arrested a Hijbul Mujahdeen terrorist from the city's cantonment railway station.
The terrorist, arrested yesterday, was identified as Ravish Ul Islam, a resident of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, they said.
Acting on a tip-off, the police launched a search operation on the Jammu-bound Sealdah Express. After the arrest, the police also recovered two US made pistols, 40 live cartridges, Rs 50,000 in cash, and two mobile sets with SIM cards from his possession.
According to preliminary inquiry, Ravish was working with Hijbul Mujahdeen as a weapon carrier for about last two years, police said.
The terrorist was produced before Duty Magistrate here who remanded him in eight days in police custody.
