New Delhi, May 18: The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has received the highest number of complaints related to child abuse in schools from Tamil Nadu, the government said today.
A total of 115 complaints were received from the southern state, Minister of State for Human Resource Development E Ahamed told the Rajya Sabha in response to an unstarred question.
“NCPCR has received 570 complaints altogether of beating, harassment, humiliation and sexual exploitation in schools across the country,” Ahamed said.
After Tamil Nadu, Delhi, with 105 complaints, had the second highest number of such cases registered with the NCPCR.
Forty-three such complaints had reached NCPCR from Andhra Pradesh, Ahamed added.
