Jammu: Students from Ladakh's remote Nubra Valley are now experiencing the country's rich heritage and development, thanks to the Army.
Fifteen students from Nubhra Valley are now on a tour to Chandigarh, New Delhi, Agra, Lucknow and Amritsar as part of an educational-cum-motivational tour, a defence spokesman said here yesterday.
“The civilian population of Nubra Valley in Ladakh region needs to be integrated with the mainstream as it is virtually cut-off from rest of the country, both culturally and geographically.
So, it was the Army's decision to take students of this region on a tour to get a feel of the country's heritage and development,” he said.
The tour was flagged-off from Diskit in Nubra Valley on September 9 by Commander of the Siachen Brigade.
