New Delhi: A patient was bitten by a dog in post-operative ward of Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital, Dilshad Garden following which his surgery was postponed.
According to hospital administration, the patient was scheduled to undergo an eye surgery.
The patient, who was admitted to ward number 3 at the fifth floor, is identified as 53-year-old Tilak Singh. The dog bit him on his right hand and thigh.
Three others, who stood in defence of the patient, were also bitten by the dog. They are identified as Dinanath, Rajkumar and Tekaram.
All four were scheduled to undergo cataract surgery today.
Meanwhile, people at the hospital created uproar and said that it is very surprising that there are stray dogs inside the hospital premises.
When Medical Superintendent, Dr VK Jain, was asked how this incident unfortunate took place inside the premises of hospital, he said, “A team has been formed to look into the matter. The report will come in two days.”
