A civilian was critically injured after unknown gunmen, suspected to be militants, opened fire at him on Saturday. The incident took place at the Karan Nagar area in Srinagar.
"One individual identified as Majid Ahmad Gojri, resident of Chattabal Srinagar was shot at by terrorists near Madina Complex Karan Nagar area of Srinagar. He received gunshot injuries &was immediately evacuated to nearby hospital, however, he succumbed to his injuries," the J&K police said.
"Police registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law. Investigation is in progress. The area has been cordoned and search in the area is underway," they added.
