Bengaluru: SpiceJet today announced resumption of flights to Hubballi, a major commercial hub of north Karnataka, with daily direct services from here and the country's financial hub Mumbai.
“We are pleased to re-commence flights to and from Hubballi. With re-induction of Hubballi in its network, SpiceJet has reconnected an important business centre of Karnataka by air with rest of the country,” SpiceJet Chief Operating Officer Sanjiv Kapoor said in a statement.
Service to Hubballi resumed with the departure of the flight at 0850 hrs from here.
Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers Ananth Kumar flagged off the inaugural flight to Hubballi.
The daily service from Mumbai to Hubballi also resumed later in the day.
Service to Hubballi was temporarily suspended since August 2014 as the runway was being repaired and strengthened.
