Speeding car hits environmentalist Sunita Narain, hospitalized

New Delhi: Famous environmentalist Sunita Narain was hit by a car this morning while she was cycling to Lodhi Gardens for her morning walk. The car sped away and its number could not be noted.

New Delhi: Famous environmentalist Sunita Narain was hit by a car this morning while she was cycling to Lodhi Gardens for her morning walk.





The car sped away and its number could not be noted.

She was rushed to AIIMS Tauma Centre at around 5:56 am. She had swelling over both forearms and hands, and there was a laceration 2cm x 1 cm bone deep over her nose, doctors said.

Sunita Narain is presently recovering in the wards.

She is out of danger but is not presently fit for giving statement to police.

Sunita Narain is the director of Centre for Science and Environment (CSE). She is 52 and stays at A-17, Green Park.

A case under sectios 279, 337 IPA has been registered at Hauz Khas police station.
