Mumbai, Sep 29: Noted singer Jagjit Singh's condition slightly improved in the ICU of Mumbai's Lilawati Hospital and the ventilator was taken off on Wednesday evening, his relatives said.
Jagjit Singh has been battling for life after he had a severe brain haemorrhage on September 18 following which a surgery was done to save him.
Noted singers Ghulam Ali, Hariharan, Anup Jalota and Daler Mehndi went to Lilavati Hospital to see Jagjit Singh and enquire about his condition. They heaved a sigh of relief when informed that Jagjit Singh was now off life support system.
Doctors said Jagjit Singh's condition is slightly better, however, he could require ventilator again.
Friend and singer Anup Jalota, who visited the hospital on Wednesday afternoon, said, "Jagjit's wife Chitra is a strong woman. She told me that we just need to pray for him.''
While the hospital declined to provide any information about the exact mode of medication, sources said Singh is responding well to the treatment. "His condition has slightly improved," said the source.
