Sindhurakshak tragedy: 18 families mourn missing Indian Navy mariners

Kanpur/Udhampur/Mumbai: The family of missing Naval Officer Lt. Commander Alok Kumar Sahu in Old Central Park, Kanpur is presently in mourning, with little chances of survival of all 18 Navy personnel in the sunk submarine



The family stays in Ramnagar tehsil of Udhampur district.

Also missing, and presumed dead, are Lt. Commander R. Venkitaraj, anti-submarine warfare officer, hailing from Poozhapura in Thirubananthapuram, Sailor Liju Lawrence from Vazhichal, Krala (son of Lawrence and Vimala and married to Sowmya), Sailor V. Vishnu from Neendoor, Haippad, Alappuzha, and sailor Vikas from Kolassery near Thalassery, also from Kerala.

Those also missing include  Rajesh Tootika from Visakhapatnam, Narottam Deuri, from Lakhimpur Assam, and Timothy Sinha from Silchar, Assam.
