After the heartbreak of defeat in the last Assembly polls, BJP is hoping for a turnaround in its fortunes with the biggest thrust to its campaign having come from Narendra Modi, whose blitzkrieg generated the atmospherics the party was looking for.
In the 2009 polls, BJP, which had been in power at the time, had won 19 seats. Congress had picked up six seats while the remaining three were bagged by JD(S), led by former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda.
Slamming Siddaramaiah over his performance, BJP has said, “This government has not even taken off. There are no signs of its taking off. Even before it may take off, the government is likely to come to a complete halt due to a technical snag.”
BJP has also charged that the Chief Minister does not have control over his cabinet colleagues.
