The Sania-Shoaib wedding saga took an ugly turn on Friday as Ayesha's father came out hard against the Pakistani cricketer, saying he had been cheated.

At a press conference, MA Siddiqui said the ‘nikahnama' that had been produced before the media was genuine, having the stamp of the Qazi who conducted the wedding, the signature of the witnesses and of Shoaib himself.

Ayesha, who claims to have married Shoaib in 2002, went the whole hog today circulating copies of her nikahnama to Pakistani and Indian channels.

Siddiqi said he was against his daughter getting married in Pakistan due to strained relations between two neighborly countries.

The Malik family will regret this incident, he added, repeatedly saying that he had been cheated. Siddiqui threatened to sue Malik and also seek a fatwa against him from Ulemas.

“My daughter and Shoaib met in Dubai and entered into a correspondence. They ultimately married. But Shoaib kept torturing her over her weight,” he said.

Siddiqui said he did not want any money or any other benefit from the Maliks. “We just want a public divorce for my daughter or else we will take legal action against him,” he said.

“I wonder how he is marrying Sania now. We are not against Sania but we want things to end with Ayesha first.”

“My daughter wants a public divorce from Shoaib Malik, who is a liar,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ayesha has revealed for the first time that she was married to Shoaib in the latter's football factory  in Sialkot, Pakistan  in October 2002.

Speaking to a Pakistani news channel Duniya News for nearly 90 minutes, Ayesha claimed that the wives of Pakistani cricketers Imran Nazir, Rana Naved and Mohd Yousuf knew about this wedding.

Ayesha says, qazis from India and Pakistan were present at the wedding in 2002. She said, Shoaib's family members loved her immensely, but there was a sudden change in Shoaib's behaviour in 2005.

Shoaib, she claimed, used to come home and hand over the trophies that he used to win in cricket.

Ayesha revealed one more thing. She said, it was she who introduced tennis star Sania Mirza to Shoaib Malik. Shoaib, in the beginning, she says, never liked Sania's play.

Ayesha says, since her wedding in Pakistan was not officially registered, she cannot get legal remedy in that country. Ayesha has also said that she had suffered a miscarriage after her wedding with Shoaib.

Meanwhile, Shoaib's brother-in-law Imran Zafar has challenged Ayesha to come forth with evidence that she had ever visited Sialkot. Any Indian visiting Pakistan must have come with a visa and passport, and she should prove her claim, said  Imran.
