Union Minister Farooq Abdullah on Saturday paid rich tributes to former Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, who died in Jaipur. Recalling the "great services" rendered by Shekhawat to the nation for decades, Abdullah said the 87-year-old BJP leader was a "gentle person" and had friends across the political spectrum.
"He had rendered great service to the nation for decades as Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vice President of India and in other capacities," the New and Renewable Energy Minister said. He described Shekhawat's demise as a loss to the nation. PTI
