Mumbai: Peter Mukerjea , ex-Star India CEO and husband of Indrani Mukerjea, the prime accussed in Sheena Bora Murder case has revealed during police interrogation that his wife was of aggressive temperament and often abused him.
Peter also told Police that he had to face her wrath over various issues especially on property matters as she goaded him to transfer the rights to properties he owned in her name.
After her insistence, Peter made Indrani 50:50 partner in his property in New Delhi, the duplex in Worli and properties in London,” said an officer from Khar police station. The police say this revelation will help them make their case against Indrani stronger.
Other co-accused in the case, Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyamvar Rai, are said to have told the police that after strangling Sheena in the car on April 24, 2012, Indrani in a fit of rage repeatedly shouted: "Now take the 3 BHK flat in Bandra."
Reports have alleged that her children Sheena and Mikhail Bora were prone to blackmailing Indrani demanding material comfort in lieu of keeping her secrets. One of the immediate provocations for the murder is said to have been Sheena's demand that Indrani buy her a flat.
The Khar police took Mukerjea's statement on Monday, after which he hasn't been called back for interrogation
The investigation hit a roadblock when Rakesh Maria got promoted as the Director General of Police (DGP). Now investigating officers too were confused about who will head the team.
Meanwhile, the present Mumbai Police Commissioner Ahmed Javed refused to reveal any information about the investigation. He was quoted as saying, "The probe will progress like any other case.
Indrani, Sanjiv and Rai have been arrested on the charges of murdering Sheena and disposing of the body at Pen forest in Maharashtra's Raigad district in April 2012.
