Mumbai, Nov 27: Sharad Pawar's daughter Supriya Sule today went to Matoshri here to call on Shiv Sena Supremo Bal Thackeray and his family to thank them for the support they gave after her father was assaulted in Delhi.
Later she said: “We may have political differences, but our families have friendly relations for the last 40 years, which we will surely strive to maintain.”
Supriya Sule said, “My relationship with the Thackeray family goes to the time when I was born. I know Thackeray sahib, Uddhav ji, Raj ji, since my childhood. I haven't come here to meet the Shiv Sena chief, but my uncle Bal Thackeray.
“Bal Thackeray told me things from my childhood which even I do not remember. My mother and Meena Tai were friends and that is why I am here.
“I have also spoken to Raj ji and Sharmila over telephone after that incident. We may have political differences, but our personal relations are fine.
“In Maharashtra, we have a different style of politics, which all the parties have followed. There may be political differences, but those should not affect personal relationship.”
