Thiruvananthapuram: Former chief justice of India (CJI) P. Sathasivam was sworn in as the new governor of Kerala on Friday morning.
The acting chief justice of the Kerala High Court, Ashok Bhushan, administered the oath to Sathasivam at the Raj Bhavan here.
Sathasivam is the first former CJI to become the governor of a state.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, his cabinet colleagues, top officials were present on the occasion.
Sathasivam succeeded former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit who had resigned last week and flew out of the state Thursday.
