Saradha scam accused Debjani Mukherjee denies intimate relationship with Sudipto Sen

Kolkata, May 10: Debjani Mukherjee, who was director of at least five media companies of the Saradha group, has in a statement sent from jail, claimed innocence and said that she never had intimate relationship

“My only fault was that I could not leave my boss like them in the midway of the journey and though I was not given salary from nearly the end of the year 2012, I tried to help him, or at least stand beside him.

“Kindly note I have been the director of the 5 Media Companies till date as without proper scrutinee it is impossible to be a director of a Media House and if one has to replace me one should go through the same process which requires lot of procedural complications.

“Can you please answer me If I would have did the same thing like acquaintances or associates of Mr Sudipto Sen, who was the source of my bread and butter once then would it have been correct to my conscence and would I have been identified as a loyal employee???

“Trust me that was the only sole reason of my being with Mr Sudipto Sen when he called me at Delhi and though I tried to return twice at Kolkata after meeting him, I could not succeed. This way my journey in this company went alongwith Mr Sudipto Sen and my only sin is, what I understood is that I could not leave the captain of a drowning ship.

“However, complaints were lodged against me and Mr Sudipto Sen which is now subjudice and that cannot be discussed in the public front until the end of the investigation. But otherwise people are just making cock and bull stories against me, my family and my role in the company. Kindly consider, I have every justification of what I stated here and I will hundred percent assist investigation so that the people of West Bengal gets justice in whatever means.

“I kindly request you all to appreciate my chastity and dignity as a woman and trust me I will raise my support to the fullest extent to the investigation agencies. Kindly consider that I never had Thirty Crore in my account and my account statement which is under police surveillance will definitely reveal that.

“I was only the employee of the company and resigned from the directorship one year back and my job was to work for company and get the salary. I had a wish to see myself in the top of corporate arena and I dedicated myself to fulfill that dream as I always learnt there is no shortcut to success but my destiny and ethics of leaving a man in need has put me here where I am. I really appreciate your patience to hear me through my lawyers for such a long time. Thank you all.  Regards, Debjani Mukherjee.”
