Amritsar, May 6 : The ashes of Sarabjit Singh were immersed in the river Beas at Goindwal Sahib in neighbouring Taran Taran district on Sunday.
Earlier, the family offered prayers at the local gurudwara. A tearful sister Dalbir Kaur said: "We never expected Pakistan to be so cruel".
Sarabjit Singh died in Lahore's JInnah Hospital, after he was fatally attacked by inmates inside the high-security Kot Lakhpat Jail. His body was later brought via Wagah border and airlifted to his village in Bhikhiwind.
