Kochi: The Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit at Kalady here has been accredited with an A grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
An eight-member NAAC team visited the university and its eight regional centres to value the learning, academic and governing activities, a press release here said.
It was the fist university in the state to get the grade, the release claimed.
Former Vice Chancellor of Kavi Kulaguru Kalidasa University, Prof Pankaj Chande was the NAAC peer team leader.
NAAC team produced a report after valuing the activities at main university centre and its regional centres and the grade was based on this report.
The NAAC Peer team includes Prof Indrani Chakraborthy, Prof A Joseph Dorairaj, Prof Murali Desai, Dr Jasraj Singh, Dr Shree Kishor Mishara, Prof Kesab Chandra Dash and Dr sujata P Shanbagh.
