Shirdi, Aug 26: Following complaints from devotees about the quality of ‘prasad laddus' sold by Saibaba temple trust here, samples of ghee used in the preparation have been sent to a laboratory for examination.

The temple trust decided to take this step following several complaints, said Ahmednagar Collector Sanjiv Kumar, who is a member of the trust committee.

The trust earns about Rs 30 crore annually from the sale of laddus, which cost Rs 10 per packet at the present rate.

Every day, seven tonnes of laddus are made, using three tonnes of ghee.
