Rajasthan Congress leader Sachin Pilot renewing his attack on Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday said the party should take action against those who had revolted against the party. His comments assume significance, a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi heaped praise on Ashok Gehlot. The former deputy chief minister termed it a "very interesting" development that "should not be taken lightly."
"As far as Raj is concerned, a CLP meet called on September 25 couldn't be held. AICC considered it a matter of indiscipline. Rules same for all. So, if indiscipline occurred & replies were given, action should be taken.I believe party chief Kharge will take a decision soon," Sachin Pilot said.
Cautioning against PM's praise for Gehlot, Rajasthan Cong MLA Sachin Pilot says, "...I find the heaps of praises by PM Modi (on CM Gehlot yesterday) 'Dilchasp' very interesting . PM had similarly praised Ghulam Nabi Azad in Parliament. We saw what happened after that. It was an interesting development yesterday. Shouldn't be taken lightly..."
On Tuesday the prime minister addressing a public meeting at Mangarh Dham in Banswara district of Rajasthan had praised CM Gehlot.
“It is a matter of pleasure for me that I had the opportunity to visit the holy place and bow my head here. As a CM, Ashok ji and I used to work together. Ashok ji was seniormost among the group of chief ministers. He is still one of the seniormost CMs. And even now, Ashok ji is one of the seniormost CMs among those who are sitting on the dais.
Gehlot at the event "...When PM Modi goes abroad, he receives great honour. Because he is PM of the nation of Gandhi, where democracy is deep-rooted. When the world realises this, they feel proud that the PM of that country is coming to them...," Gehlot said.
Reacting to Sachin Pilot's statements, CM Gehlot said, "They should not make such remarks. KC Venugopal has asked everybody in the party to not make any such remarks. We want that everybody should follow discipline."
