Akhtar is the mastermind of Bodh Gaya blasts as well. About half a kilo of explosives used in each bomb, table clocks used as timers, sources said on Monday.
Seven low intensity bomb blasts ripped through Patna's Gandhi Maidan on Sunday during BJP's mega Hunkar rally where several top BJP leaders were to address a huge gathering. Six people were killed in the blasts and more than 80 were injured in the blasts.
Police have so far arrested more than a dozen persons for their alleged involvement in the bombings including three Indian Mujahideen men.
