Republic Day 2024: Women-centric iconic parade concludes, tableaus displayed cultural colours

Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people who arrived at Kartavya Path to watch the Republic Day parade. French President Emmanuel Macron was the chief guest at this year's parade.

Following the conclusion of the Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path in New Delhi, President Droupadi Murmu and her French counterpart Emmanuel Macron departed in the special presidential carriage. Other dignitaries are set to leave the venue shortly thereafter.

The Republic Day parade concluded at the Kartavya Path in New Delhi. 

 As many as six Rafale aircraft flew over Kartavya Path in 'Marut' formation during the Republic Day ceremonial parade in New Delhi. 

The Tangail formation comprising one Dakota aircraft in lead with two Dornier aircraft in echelon fly over Kartavya Path in 'Vic' formation. It was a specially recorded aerial visuals.

 The CRPF women bikers showcased their daredevilry at the Kartavya Path.

Motorcycle display enthralled the guests and audience at Republic Day celebrations at Kartavya Path. The Central Armed Police women personnel exhibited their prowess of 'Naari Shakti'. As many as 265 women bikers on motorcycles showcased bravery and valour.

The cultural performances formed a part of the celebrations at the Kartavya path in Delhi. The Group consisted of 1500 dancers giving the message of 'unity in diversity.' The grand performance includes 30 folk dance styles uniquely prevalent in different states of the country. 120 dancers have also donned masks related to various tribal and folk performing arts and 120 dancers are performing dances with traditional umbrellas and other artistic objects from Gujarat, Manipur, Kerala and Maharashtra.

The tableau of Jharkhand took part in the parade at the Kartavya Path in New Delhi. The tableau transported the audience through the rich heritage of Tasar Silk. Upon the tableau, the resilience of tribal women in the production of Tasar Silk was also showcased.

The tableau of Gujarat took part in the parade. The theme of the tableau is 'Dhordo: Global Icon of Gujarat's Tourism Development'.

The tableau of Ladakh took part in the parade. It is based on the theme of 'Viksit Bharat: Empowering women through employment in Ladakh's journey'. The Indian Women's Ice Hockey team, exclusively composed of Ladakhi players, symbolises this journey of empowerment. The tableau illustrates this feat and features girls playing ice hockey amidst the snow.

The tableau of Rajasthan took part in the parade. The presented tableau is a demonstration of the development of women's handicraft industries, nurtured along with the festive culture of Rajasthan.

The tableau of Uttar Pradesh took part in the parade. The theme of the tableau was based on 'Ayodhya: Viksit Bharat-Samradh Virasat'. The front of the tableau symbolised the Pranpratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla, showcasing his childhood form.

The tableau of Odisha took part in the parade at the Kartavya Path. The tableau of the state depicted the achievements of women's empowerment as well as the state's rich handicraft and handloom sector. 

Manipur showcased its 'Nari Shakti' with  'Ima Keithel', the 500-year-old market, one and only in the world run entirely by women. 

The tableau of Madhya Pradesh took part in the parade. It portrayed the 'Self-reliant and progressive; women of the state'. 

The tableau of Arunachal Pradesh on Kartavya Path depicted the Singchung Bugun Village Community Reserve, a biodiversity hotspot in the state. 

The tableau of Haryana took part in the parade at Republic Day. The theme of this year's tableau is 'Mera Parivar-Meri Pehchan' - a program of the Haryana Government. The tableau has been crafted as a traditional symbol of empowerment for Haryanvi women. 

19 Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar recipients participated in the parade on Kartavya Path on Republic Day. The award is given in 6 categories in the fields of bravery, art & culture, innovation, science & technology, social service and sports. 

India's 'Nari Shakti' was on display as women soldiers marched down the Kartavya Path on the 75th Republic Day. The Border Security Force (BSF) Mahila Brass Band consisting of three Subordinate Officers (SOs) and 80 Other Ranks also marched for the first time on Kartavya Path. 

Delhi Police all-women band participated in the parade for the first time and is being led by Band Master Sub Inspector Ruyangunuo Kense. Also participating in the parade is the 15-time winner of the best marching contingent - the Delhi Police marching contingent.

Indian Air Force marching contingent led by Squadron Leader Rashmi Thakur with Squadron Leader Sumita Yadav, Squadron Leader Pratiti Ahluwalia and Flight Lieutenant Kirit Rohil. Indian Air Force tableau also took part in the parade. The tableau displayed the theme 'Bharatiya Vayu Sena: Saksham, Sashakt, Atmanirbhar'. The tableau commanders are Flt Lt Ananya Sharma and Flying Officer Asma Shaikh.

Indian Navy tableau highlighted the themes of 'Nari Shakti' and 'Atmanirbharta'. It also depicted the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant and Navy ships Delhi, Kolkata and Shivalik and Kalavari Class Submarine.

The all-women Tri-Services contingent comprising Agniveers and regular recruits proudly marched down the Kartavya Path on Republic Day. This is the first time an all-Tri-Services women soldiers contingent is marching on Kartavya Path. Marching for the first time ever on Kartavya Path --- an all-women contingent of the Armed Forces Medical Services, led by Major Srishti Khullar with Capt Amba Samant from Army Dental Corps, Surg Lt Kanchana from Indian Navy, Flt Lt Dhivya Priya from Indian Air Force. 

Madras Regiment, the oldest infantry regiment of the Indian Army marched down the Kartavya Path. Their Motto is 'Swadharne Nidhanam Shreyaha' - It is a glory to die doing one's duty. 

Mechanised Columns of the Army were seen taking part in the parade. The detachment of Tank T-90 Bhishma, led by Lt Fayaz Singh Dhillon of the 42 Armoured Regiment, was at the Kartavya Path. Meanwhile, all-terrain vehicles used by the security forces were also displayed at Kartavya Path on Republic Day. 

The French Foreign Legion music band consisting of 30 musicians and the French marching contingent from the 2nd Infantry Regiment of the French Foreign Legion on Karvatya Path on 75th Republic Day. 

The ceremonial parade at Kartavya Path began with 'Aavahan'. For the first time ever, the parade is being heralded by over 100 women artists playing Indian musical instruments. The parade is commencing with the music of Sankh, Naadswaram, Nagada, etc. being played by these artists.

President Droupadi Murmu unfurled the National Flag at Kartavya Path. It was followed by the National anthem and 21 Gun salute. 

President Droupadi Murmu and French President Emmanuel Macron step outside the Rashtrapati Bhavan, as they leave for the Kartavya Path for Republic Day 2024 parade. They were also given the national salute by the President's Bodyguard at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhawan.

PM Modi laid a wreath at the National War Memorial as he led the nation in paying homage to the braveheart soldiers. The Inter-Services Guard presents 'Salami Shastra' followed by 'Shok Shastra'. This year the Inter Services Guard is commanded by an Indian Army Officer Major Indrajeet Sachin from the 6th Bn of the Sikh Regiment.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh unfurled the national flag at his residence on Republic Day. He also extended greetings to citizens on this occasion. 

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unfurled the national flag in Lucknow on the occasion of the 75th Republic Day. 

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla unfurled the national flag in Delhi on the occasion of the Republic Day. "I appeal to the countrymen to work towards 'Sankalp se siddhi' to make Bharat a developed nation," he stated. 

Embassy of Russia in India held celebrations on the occasion of India's 75th Republic Day. They also posted a video of celebrations on X.  

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar unfurled the national flag at his residence in Patna on Republic Day. He also distributed sweets among the people there. 

The Delhi Metro on Thursday unveiled a train exclusively wrapped to celebrate the 75th Republic Day. The special train was flagged off from the Mandi House Metro Station on the Violet Line by Minister of Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Managing Director Vikas Kumar. In a post on X, the DMRC said, "A metro train specially wrapped to celebrate the 75th Republic Day was formally pressed into service today from Mandi House Metro station on the Violet Line in the presence of Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of Law and Justice, and DMRC MD Vikas Kumar." The minister signed on the decorated train and also interacted with specially-abled children who were a part of the event, it said.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda unfurled the national flag at the party headquarters in Delhi on the occasion of the 75th Republic Day. The Centre has announced that the 75th Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path will be women-centric with 'Viksit Bharat' and 'Bharat - Loktantra ki Matruka' to be the main themes.

'Himveers' of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), posted in snow-bound areas along the India-China border, extended their greetings to the countrymen on the 75th Republic Day. They posted a patriotic video on X. 

French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday greeted the Prime Minister and the people of India on the occasion of Republic Day. "My dear friend @NarendraModi, Indian people, My warmest wishes on your Republic Day. Happy and proud to be with you. Let’s celebrate! (sic)," he wrote on X. Notably, Macron is the chief guest for this year's Republic Day. 

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma unfurled the national flag at his residence in Jaipur on the occasion of Republic Day. "I extend my greetings to all citizens. During Viksit Bharat Sankalp, the Prime Minister had said that it is that every citizen has some duty, and I would like to remind them of their duties because the contribution of every citizen is essential in nation-building. So, we should do our duty towards building the nation," CM Sharma stated. 

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat unfurled the national flag at RSS headquarters in Nagpur, on the occasion of the Republic Day. "The strength of the people of India is infinite. When this strength rises, it does many miracles. Today, we are moving forward in every sector. We can achieve only when we are bound by a sense of brotherhood...In our country, there is a tradition of accepting diversity. The country will rise to greater heights when everyone works together with a sense of brotherhood and follows the Constitution," he added. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to citizens on the occasion of the 75th Republic Day. "Best wishes on special occasion of the 75th Republic Day. Jai Hind," he wrote on X. 

A 95-member marching contingent and a 33-member band contingent from France will also take part in the parade. Contingents of the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Indian Coast Guard, CAPF, Delhi Police, NCC, and NSS will march on the Kartavya Path. Tableaux of 16 States and nine ministries will also take part.

On the occasion of the Republic day, Anji Khad bridge- first cable-stayed bridge of Indian Railways connecting the Katra and Reasi sections of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla-Rail-Link (USBRL) illuminated in tricolour. As per officials, over 8,000 security personnel have been deployed and security has been increased with the help of technology and human intelligence surveillance in Delhi.

The ceremonial event today will witness the classic display of the nation's defence forces with an exhilarating display of mighty cavalcades comprising of mechanised columns state-of-the-art equipment, marches of contingents and a display of varied cultures and unity in diversity of the nation. For the first time ever, an all-women Tri-Service contingent marching down the Kartavya Path. Women pilots will also enthral the audience during the Indian Air Force's fly-past, representing Nari Shakti (women power).

The theme of this year's Republic Day is 'Viksit Bharat' and 'Bharat: Loktantra ki Matruka', which symbolise the country's aspirations and its role as the nurturer of democracy. The parade, which will commence at 10:30 a.m., will continue for around 90 minutes.

The parade at the Kartavya Path in the national capital will be 'women-centric', indicating the roles played by women in various sectors. Fifteen women pilots, including six from the fighter streams, will operate various IAF platforms during the fly-past. For the first time, indigenously-built Tejas aircraft will fly in a formation of four aircraft. For the first time, the parade will be heralded by 100 women artists playing Indian musical instruments. The parade would commence with the music of Sankh, Naadswaram, Nagada, etc. to be played by women artists.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) contingent will comprise 144 airmen and four officers, and it will be led by Squadron Leader Rashmi Thakur. Squadron Leaders Sumita Yadav, Pratiti Ahluwalia and Flight Lieutenant Kirti Rohil will march past as supernumerary officers behind the contingent commander. The IAF fleet will include 29 fighter jets, seven transport aircraft, nine helicopters and one heritage plane. All these aircraft will operate from six different bases.

The first Indian Army contingent leading the Mechanised Column will be of 61 Cavalry to be led by Major Yashdeep Ahlawat. Raised in 1953, the 61 Cavalry is the only serving active Horsed Cavalry Regiment in the world. It will be followed by 11 Mechanised Columns, 12 marching contingents, and a fly past by Advanced Light Helicopters of Army Aviation Corps.

The parade will be commanded by Lieutenant General Bhavnish Kumar, General Officer Commanding, Delhi Area. The Kartavya Path will be witness to a march past by a combined band and marching contingent of the French Armed Forces. A 30-member band contingent will be headed by Captain Khourda and will be followed by a 90-member marching contingent from France. Six Indians will be part of the French marching contingent.

The national flag will be unfurled followed by the national anthem with a booming 21-gun salute to be given with indigenous gun system 105-mm Indian Field Guns. Four Mi-17 IV helicopters of the 105 Helicopter Unit will shower flower petals on the audience present at Kartavya Path. This will be followed by 'Aavaahan', a band performance by over 100 women artists playing various types of percussion instruments. The parade will then commence with President Murmu taking the salute.
