New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party yesterdayy expelled its rebel MLA in Delhi Vinod Kumar Binny for anti-party activities.
A disciplinary committee headed by Pankaj Gupta, with members Yogendra Yadav, Gopal Rai, Ilyas Azmi and Ashish Talwar, decided to expel Binny and terminate his party membership, for "publicly making false statements against the party and its leadership, thereby bringing disrepute to the party".
The expulsion letter has been sent to Binny.
Binny will be sitting on indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar from tomorrow to protest against what he says, non-implementation of the party's pre-poll promises.
Today, Binny went on a Jan Ashirwad Yatra to garner support. Binny had defeated powerful Congress minister A K Walia from Lakshmi Nagar on AAP ticket.
He wanted to become a minister, but Kejriwal declined to induct him. Kejriwal is on record on having said that Binny wanted a Lok Sabha ticket, and that request too, was declined.
