Bangalore: Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today refused to comment on Supreme Court Chief Justice R M Lodha's statement that the executive did the segregation of Gopal Subramanium's name from the list for appointment as a judge of the apex court “unilaterally” which was “not proper.”

“No, No”, Prasad told reporters who approached him after he addressed a close-door state BJP meeting, seeking his reaction to the CJI's remarks which lent a new dimension to the controversy over appointment of Subramanium.

Earlier in the day, Justice Lodha at a function in New Delhi said “the first thing I had taken objection to was the segregation of Gopal Subramanium's file unilaterally by the executive. It is not proper.”

At the same time, Justice Lodha also expressed his disappointment over Subramanium going public with his grievances when he was abroad.
