Jaipur: Rearing its ugly head much before the usual monsoonal rains, the dreaded swine flu has claimed two more lives in Rajasthan's Jaipur and Ajmer, taking the state's total toll due to it to nine since April 1.

A 60-year-old woman of Chomu town near Jaipur and a 26-year-old woman from Ajmer succumbed to the dreaded influenza yesterday, state medical and health department sources said today.

The septuagenarian died at the SMS Hospital, while the woman from Ajmer succumbed to the disease at the JLN Hospital.

Of the nine swine flu related deaths in the state, three persons died in Ajmer, two in Jaipur, and one each in Bhilwara, Rajsamand, Jodhpur and Pali, the sources said.

Five of the deceased are women and the rest men, all aged between 26 and 64 years.
