Mumbai: Mumbai Police today questioned Rahul Mukherjea, son of media baron Peter Mukherjea, in connection with the Sheena Bora murder case, the second time he was summoned within a span of a few hours.
He was also quizzed late last night by Khar police.
According to police officials, Rahul, who is Peter's son from previous marriage, was again grilled about his 'relationship' with Sheena and why he did not pursue a missing complaint about her.
Sheena was daughter of Indrani Mukherjea, wife of Peter and the main suspect in the case, from a previous marriage Officials, requesting anonymity, said that Rahul and Sheena, 24, were seeing each other for over a year, which Indrani did not like.
A web of lies and intriguing relationships have emerged in the case as it came to light that Sheena was Indrani's daughter and not sister as she claimed.
The motive of the murder still remains a mystery though Indrani's son Mikhail claimed he knew the real reason but would not disclose it.
Investigators are not ruling out the "honour killing" angle after it came to light that both Peter and Indrani disapproved of the "relationship" between his son Rahul and the victim.
"Although the motive behind the murder still remains a mystery, we are probing all the angles as we strongly suspect honour killing in this case," said a police inspector requesting anonymity.
Indrani Mukerjea's former husband Sanjeev Khanna was arrested from Kolkata yesterday.
Police said that they would re-create the entire crime scene, which Indrani and her driver allegedly executed on April 23, 2012.
