Punjab: The Bhagwant Mann-leg government in Punjab increased the Value-added Tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel price on Sunday. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has hiked the prices of petrol by 92 paise and diesel by 88 paise.
According to reports, the petrol and diesel prices in the state will be now Rs. 98.65 and 88.95 per litre respectively.
The officials on Sunday after the hike in VAT on petrol and diesel prices said that with the increase in fuel prices, the state aims to generate Rs 600 crore per annum as revenue.
