Punjab, Chandigarh Lok Sabha Election Result 2024: The counting of votes for the 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab and the lone Chandigarh seat has been concluded. As per the Election Commission of India data, while the BJP failed to register its mark in Punjab, the Congress won seven seats in the state. The party won from Amritsar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Firozpur, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and Patiala Lok Sabha constituencies.
Significantly, AAP has also clinched three seats in the state. The party won the Anandpur Sahib, Hoshiarpur, and Sangrur seats. Shiromani Akali Dal also won the Bathinda seat. Two independent candidates also registered their victories in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Further, apart from its sweeping victory in Punjab, the Congress also won the lone Chandigarh seat. Party candidate Manish Tewari defeated the BJP's Sanjay Tandon with a margin of 2504 votes.
