New Delhi: People of Delhi will now get idlis for Re 1 now, but only for three days.
Tamil Nadu Bhavan in the national capital has opened a food stall as part of Pongal celebrations and will serve South Indian food - idlis at Re one and lemon-rice and sambhar-rice at Rs. 5 - till January 14.
Shortly after its inauguration scores of people lined up to taste the food at the budget kitchen.
The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister launched these kitchens, run entirely by women's self-help groups, in Chennai, to provide nutritious food at an affordable price for the poor.
200 such canteens across Tamil Nadu serve nearly 1,60,000 people a day and have won the Chief Minister many fans.
