Poll campaign in Seemandhra to end tomorrow

Hyderabad: A high decibel election campaign, marked by vitriolic accusations, for the 175 assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in Seemandhra would come to an end tomorrow. Braving scorching heat in Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema,

As many as 272 companies of the Central Para-Military Forces and over a lakh personnel of the state police would be deployed for the second phase of the elections in AP.

According to state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Bhanwar Lal, 333 candidates are in the fray for the 25 parliamentary constituencies and 2,243 nominees for the 175 Assembly segments.

An air ambulance and four choppers would be deployed in the Maoist-hit areas.

About Rs 140 crore of unaccounted cash, 74.2 kg of gold, besides liquor and other material have been seized so far during the enforcement of poll code in undivided Andhra Pradesh so far.
