The Prime Minister's Office on Wednesday sent a cheque of Rs 2 lakh and a condolence letter to the aggrieved family of the kidney patient who died on way to the PGIMER during the PM's visit there.
The family of the deceased S P Verma from Ambala in Haryana, claimed that security personnel, including those from Chandigarh Police, deployed at the medical institute, did not allow their vehicle to reach the emergency and kept diverting them from one place to another for about two hours resulting in the death of Verma who was in need of urgent medical attention.
Deputy Commissioner of Ambala Samir Pal Saro visited the grieving family on Wednesday evening and handed over to Verma's kin the cheque and the condolence latter from the PMO.
He also assured Verma's wife that the administration would make all efforts to get her a government job besides arranging for the education of her two sons. PTI
