Rewa: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who participated in the National Panchayati Raj Day celebrations in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district on Monday, lambasted the Congress and alleged the party never gave importance to the villages and behaved like a stepmother.
PM Modi, who reached Rewa early in the morning, addressed representatives and functionaries of Panchayati Raj Institutions and gram sabhas across the country, pitched his voice against the Opposition and claimed the grand old party has had maintained ant-village tendency during its 70-year-old regime. '
Congress ruined over thousand year system: PM
He claimed that Congress has always distanced itself from the Panchayati Raj system and added it ruined the structure deliberately even though it had been an integral part of the nation for thousands of years.
Further, he asserted that the Congress party consciously ignored villages as they did not consider them as vote banks.
Notably, on Monday, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, in collaboration with the Government of Madhya Pradesh, commemorated National Panchayati Raj Day (NPRD) on 24th April, 2023 at Rewa in Madhya Pradesh as a major event as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) – Samaaveshi Vikaas (Inclusive Development) adopting Whole-of-the-Government approach, according to the statement released by the concerned ministry.
