PM Modi launches BJP's membership drive - 'Sanghatan Parva, Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024'
BJP workers were given special training and information about the campaign. Under this campaign, the party has set a target of making 200 members at every booth, said a party leader.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s national membership drive - 'Sanghatan Parva, Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024' at BJP Headquarters in Delhi. BJP president JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah and other top leaders attended the party event.
PM Modi bats for internal democracy in party
PM Modi after launching the BJP's membership drive said If an organisation does not give value to internal democracy, then the situation arises which is seen in several parties in the country.
"Several generations have invested their lives into this party, then today the party has made its place in the hearts of the people," he added.
He recalled his early days at the party and said that he painted Lotus on the walls, but always had faith that Lotus would bloom in people's hearts.
BJP is most democratic party: Shah
Shah, while addressing the event, said the BJP is not only the world's largest political party but also the most democratic party. No other party conducts its membership drive with such transparency and honesty as the BJP, he added.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised PM Modi, saying the PM has made sure that even if we dream big, our promises to people must always remain in alignment with what we are capable of delivering.
"We must be able to translate our promises into actions. This is why the BJP stands out as the most credible political party in the world. We don't do politics for the sake of forming govt, but to form an empowered society," he added.
Nadda praises PM Modi for his leadership
Addressing the party event, Nadda said, "I welcome and thank all of our karyakartas (party workers) for coming to this event! Modi ji, being the Pradhan Sevak of the country, maintains a busy schedule to monitor the nuances of governance. He is an inspiration and a role model for all of us. PM Modi has always prioritised Sangathan. Whenever Sangathan needed him, PM Modi made sure to take time out of his busy schedule and be there for the Sangathan."
"When Amit Bhai Shah was the national president of the party, at that time he had given priority to the membership campaign. He had said that we will change the path of the organisation, we will change the methods of the organisation, so that we can include more and more people in the party who want to walk with the lotus symbol," he added.

Amit Shah's appeal
Senior party leader Amit Shah said today is a very important and auspicious day for all well-wishers and workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
"Today Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and national party president Shri JP Nadda ji will launch the membership campaign of our party. BJP is the largest and most vibrant party in the world. Our party is unique among all the political parties working in the democratic field of India because it is a party of workers," Shah said in a video message on X.
For us, the organization is not just a process on paper, but the life and soul of our party, and today the formation of a new organization begins with membership, he added.
"I appeal to all well-wishers of BJP, all citizens of the country and all party workers to join BJP once again and take our organization to new heights," he concluded.
