Wishes pour in for PM Modi on 73rd birthday, special prayers, launch of welfare initiatives mark day

PM Modi birthday: During the 'Sewa Pakhwara', BJP members were involved in a slew of activities, including reaching out to people with the government's various achievements and also welfare activities like blood donation camp, cleanliness drives and health camps.

PM Modi birthday: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) reached out to different sections of society and organise various welfare activities across India as it launched 'Sewa Pakhwara' (fortnight of service) to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 73rd birthday today (September 17). The exercise will continue till October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a practice the BJP has been following annually for the past several years. Greetings poured in for Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 73rd birthday with leaders across party lines, prominent personalities and common people wishing him good health and a long life. In Modi's parliamentary constituency Varanasi, special prayers were held at the Kashi Vishwanath temple on the occasion. BJP members and Modi's admirers participated in a host of activities, including yagnas and pujas, cleanliness and plantation drives and distribution of food items among the poor, on the day. President Droupadi Murmu was among the first to greet the prime minister. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other BJP leaders credited the prime minister with laying a strong foundation of a grand and self-reliant India on the basis of the country's ancient heritage.

    RML Hospital to open speciality OPD for transgender community on PM Modi's birthday

    Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital here will inaugurate a speciality OPD for the transgender community on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday on Sunday. Besides, a blood donation camp will also be organised on that day. The hospital's Medical Superintendent Dr Ajay Shukla will inaugurate this special OPD and blood donation camp. He said this speciality OPD service will be available to transgenders every Friday from 2 pm to 4 pm and there will be a separate registration counter for the same.
