Mann Ki Baat update: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the 102nd episode of his radio show Mann Ki Baat. PM Modi hailed the courage of the people of Gujarat who successfully braved cyclone Biparjoy. The PM asserted that the teamwork reduced the damages inflicted due to the cyclone that made landfall in Gujarat on Thursday (June 15). BJP chief JP Nadda and Union Minister Anurag Thakur were among the people who listened to his radio show.

"The strength of disaster management that India has developed over the years is becoming an example today. Cyclone Biparjoy wreaked so much havoc in Kutch, but the people of Kutch faced it with full courage and preparedness," said PM Narendra Modi.

PM Modi hailed Indian democracy recalling the struggle during the Emergency.

"India is the mother of democracy. We cannot forget 25th June. The day when emergency was imposed. It was a dark period in the history of India. Millions of people opposed the emergency with all their might. The supporters of democracy were tortured so much during that time that even today, the mind shudders. Today when we celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav we must also observe such crimes. This will teach the young generations the meaning and importance of democracy," PM Modi said.

In the Hapur district of UP, people have revived an extinct river. The river's source is also being developed as an Amrit Sarovar,"  said PM Modi.

"When it comes to management, we should look at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Along with his bravery, a lot is to be learned from his governance. His management skills particularly water management and the Navy still remain the pride of India," said the PM on his radio show.

His monthly radio broadcast Mann Ki Baat broke its tradition as it was aired before its scheduled time. Usually, the PM's program is broadcast on the last Sunday of every month.

Why the change in schedule?
Mann Ki Baat's schedule is changed as the last Sunday of the month is falling on June 25 and during this time PM Modi will be on a visit to America.

PM Modi tweeted

PM Modi had tweeted on June 13 that this time the Mann Ki Baat program will be broadcast on June 18, 2023. He had invited suggestions from the citizens of the country for the programme.

"This month’s #MannKiBaat programme will take place on Sunday, 18th June. It is always a delight to receive your inputs. Share your inputs on the NaMo App, MyGov or record your message by dialling 1800-11-7800," he tweeted.

Meanwhile, in the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi said that Mann Ki Baat is such a festival, which comes every month and for which everyone waits.

“We celebrate the positivity and participation of the people in the show. The subject with which 'Mann Ki Baat' became a mass movement because of people's participation," he added.
