Mumbai : The Bombay High Court yesterday directed Maharashtra Government and other respondents to file replies to a petition challenging a Government Resolution which regularised services of teachers recruited between 1991 to 2000 only from this year.
The direction was given by the bench headed by Justice V M Kanade.
According to the petition, the services of about 8,000 teachers appointed between September 19, 1991 to April 3, 2000 were regularised through this GR from this year, and not from the years of appointment. They would get related benefits only from this year, even if they had joined the service two decades ago.
