New Delhi: China's first lady Peng Liyuan Thursday visited a school here.
Chinese President Xi Jinping and and his wife Peng are on a three-day official visit to India.
During her hour-long visit to the Tagore International School, Peng interacted with a select group of students and did some calligraphy.
Peng said: "It is important for all of us to keep learning and work hard to achieve the goal we have set in life."
The school has a distance learning programme with a school in Shanghai as part of which Indian students learn Tai Chi and calligraphy and students in China learn Kathak and yoga.
Peng Liyuan, 51, is a singer who is popular in China for her patriotic folk songs. Peng was born to a family of artists in Shandong province. Her mother was a member of a local art troupe and her father was a curator of local museum.
She holds a Master's degree in traditional ethnic music and now serves as the dean of the Art Academy of the People's Liberation Army. She holds the rank of a major general.
