Kolkata: The victim of infamous Park Street rape survivor died of Encephalitis today morning.
She was suffering from Encephalitis for a long time and was admitted to Calcutta Medical College late on Thursday night.
Doctors had shifted her to at the critical care unit following serious deterioration in her health. She breathed last at 6.30am.
The 40-year-old victim is survived by two young daughters.
The Park Street rape case hit headlines in February, 2012, after the survivor was allegedly gang-raped at gunpoint. The victim came out strongly against her aggressors.
In 2013, Suzette Jordan, an Anglo-Indian woman, had boldly revealed her identity to the world and marched on the streets of Kolkata to protest a series of rapes and murders in the state.
