New Delhi, June 27: Pakistani troops opened fire on Indian posts in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir yesterday. The "unprovoked" firing lasted for 30 minutes. Indian soldiers fired in retaliation. No casualities were reported, official sources said.
"Pakistani troops opened fire on Indian posts along the Line of Control (LoC) between Saidan and Doda in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir," the sources said.
They added that firing by the Pakistanis was to facilitate an infiltration bid across the LoC.
This was the second time that Pakistani troops have resorted to unprovoked firing along the LoC this month. Pakistani troops had fired along the LoC Tuesday in Durga Battalion area in Poonch brigade belt.
