Jammu: Pakistan Rangers on Sunday targeted Border Security Force (BSF) positions on the international border in Jammu district.
"Pakistan Rangers targeted Jogwana post of the BSF in RS Pura sector of Jammu district today (Sunday) morning," a senior police officer said here.
"Pakistan Rangers used small weapons and automatics to target the post. BSF retaliated effectively using similar calibre weapons," the official added.
"Firing exchange continued from 1 a.m. to 1.15 am," he said further.
The ceasefire violation occurred on a day the Indian security forces are on maximum alert because the US President Barack Obama arrived on a three-day visit to India today (Sunday).
