Goa s former tourism Minister Fransisco Mickey Pacheco will have to spend at least two more nights in a judicial lock up at Sada Jail, 35 kms from in Panaji.
The former minister managed to get bail in the forgery case filed against him, but will be behind bars in Sada sub- jail pending verdict on his bail petition in Nadia Torrado death case on Monday. Pacheco is sentenced for 14 days judicial custody by Judicial Magistrate First Class on Friday after his police custody expired.
This morning, even Pacheco s lawyer Anacleto Viegas was readying for the arguments in the bail petition filed, Margao police arrested him (Pacheco) in connection with a forgery case. Pacheco s estranged wife, Sara, had filed complaint against him alleging that he had forged her signature to sell a flat.
Police reopened probe into three more cases of forgery filed against Pacheco by Sara. He moved anticipatory bail petition in three cases and managed to get a bail. In connection with one of the three cases he was arrested.
After a day-long court trials, Pacheco finally was shifted to Sada sub-Jail. District and Sessions court this evening heard arguments in the bail petition filed in Nadia death case and kept the order for Monday.
The former minister is in neck deep trouble after his female friend Nadia died on May 30. The 28-year-old woman had consumed poison on May 15 and was shifted to various hospitals at Margao (Goa), Thane (Mumbai) and Chennai. PTI
