Gandhinagar: Gujarat chief minister and BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi today performed "shastra pooja" (worshipping of weapons) on Vijaya Dashami day at his official residence.
Modi religiously observes 9-day fast during Navratri and on the tenth day, Vijaya Dashami he offers "shastra pooja".
This has been an annual feature for him over the years.
Modi performed the worshipping of weapons with state policemen and security personnel. AK-47 rifles, pistols, swords and other weapons were stacked on a dais, and Modi applied 'tilak' to the weapons.
Tweeted Modi: "Greetings on Vijaya Dashmi. Joined "Shastra Puja" with our police and security personnel earlier today."
