Nabarangpur(Odisha): In an inhuman incident, a nine-day-old infant girl died after being branded with hot bangles by a traditional healer at the instance of her superstitious parents in a tribal dominated village in Nabarangpur district of Odisha on Monday.
The infant was suffering from a stomach ailment since her birth in Gorama village under Jharigaon block. Her superstitious parents took her to a disari (traditional healer) who branded the baby with hot bangles.
The infant's condition deteriorated and she was admitted to the district hospital in a critical condition, where she succumbed to injuries on Monday.
