Nuh violence: Tension gripped nearby districts- Gurugram, Faridabad and Palwal after communal violence was triggered after the Vishva Hindu Parishad procession was stones pelted. Authorities issued prohibitory orders to control the situation.
At least five people were killed, including two home guards and three civilian, after a mob in Nuh district tried to stop a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession, pelting stones and setting cars on fire, police said. According to police, VHP's 'Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra' was stopped by a group of young men near Nuh’s Khedla Mod and stones pelted at the procession. Cars were then set ablaze. People in the procession also hurled stones back at the youths who had stopped them, reports said.

'Situation under control, normalcy restored...,' Gurugram Deputy Commissioner
After witnessing violent clashes between two groups in Gurugram's Sohna road, Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav said that the situation is totally under control and normalcy has been restored and markets have opened. "In Gurugram, the situation is totally under control, Sohna was our main focus area, a peace committee meeting has taken place there, normalcy restored and markets have opened. We have conducted a flag march as well," Nishant Yadav said.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar holds a meeting on the situation arising in Nuh. He said, "Whatever incident happened in Nuh is unfortunate, senior police officers and administration were immediately sent as soon as the incident came to light. Peace talks conclude
Peace talks meeting chaired by Nuh District Deputy Commissioner Prashant Pawar and SP Narendra Singh Bijarnia has concluded. In the meeting, the residents assured that they will not allow violence to escalate and will cooperate fully in maintaining peace. The SP also appealed to the peace committee members to help identify the accused.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and other leaders cutting across party lines have appealed to people to maintain peace and harmony in the state. Mobile internet services shut
In Nuh, mobile internet services were suspended till Wednesday to contain the "intense communal tension", the Haryana government said. "...This order is issued to prevent any disturbance of peace and public order in the jurisdiction of district Nuh and shall be in force with effect from 4 pm, July 31 to 23:59 hours of August 2," Additional Chief Secretary (Home) T V S N Prasad said. Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav warned the public of strict legal action for any objectionable post on social media.
