New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Wednesday made it clear that there will be no more "tampering" with the Yamuna river bed and said the government will shift the Millennium Bus Depot from the river zone.
"Some people objected to the presence of the Millennium Bus Depot in the river zone since they said it was in a sensitive zone and the government had opposed it. Now we will shift the bus depot from there," Kejriwal told reporters.
"The Lt. Governor is also happy with the decision," he added.
Kejriwal also said no more structures will be built in the Yamuna zone and an alternative site will be found for the bus depot.
The Millennium Depot came up in the Yamuna zone and was supposed to be a temporary structure during the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
However, the depot is still there.
