New Delhi, Oct 18: No decision was taken today for shortlisting three senior IPS officers for the post of CBI Director during a high-level meeting chaired by Central Vigilance Commissioner Pradeep Kumar.
Kumar today met CBI Director Amar Pratap Singh, who retires on November 30, and senior officials from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) to decide on three names one of whom will be selected for the next chief of the investigating agency, sources said.
Among the names being considered to head the top post of the country's premier probe agency are Ranjit Sinha, a 1974 batch IPS officer of Bihar cadre, S C Sinha (Haryana:1975), Neeraj Kumar (AGMUT:1976) and V K Gupta (Gujarat:1977).
While Ranjit heads the Indo Tibetan Border Police force, Sinha is at present Director General of National Investigation Agency, Kumar Delhi Police Commissioner and Gupta is working as Special Director at CBI headquarters in Delhi.
