Nigeria threatens forcible eviction of 1 million Indians, if Goa deports Nigerians

New Delhi: A major diplomatic row is in the offing with Nigeria's consular attache Jacob Nwadadia saying that his country could think of forcibly evacuating one millions Indians living there if the Goa government continued



In Delhi, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid described Nigeria as a friendly country and said that the problem will be sorted out. The Centre has asked Goa government for its report on the killing of the Nigerian national.

The Nigerian national was found dead with stab wounds at Mapusa in Goa last week, and this led to protests from around 200 Nigerians who blocked the National Highway.

Goa  chief minister Parrikar said, the state government will soon initiate the process to withdraw cases against Nigerians booked for minor offences so that they can be deported to their country after producing requisite documents.
