New Delhi, June 24: Amid news reports that its team had ruled out rape in two Greater Noida villages during the farmers' stir, the National Human Rights Commission today said its investigation report on the incident was not ready.

In a statement, the NHRC said the investigation team's report on the police firing in Bhatta-Parsaul villages in May was not ready and it has not been submitted to Chairperson Justice K G Balakrishnan.

“The report...has not been received by the Chairperson or the Commission as it is still not ready. After finalisation, first the report will be placed before the Full Commission for consideration and any further proceeding in the matter which may be brought in public domain,” the statement said.

Reports suggested that the NHRC team ruled out rape of women by policemen in two villages of Greater Noida debunking a claim by Rahul Gandhi. The Central government has cast doubts over the veracity of the content of the report.

The statement also said the investigation team's report on the alleged rape and murder of a girl in a police station premises in Lakhimpur Kheri was also still in the process of finalisation. PTI
