New Delhi, April 27: he National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Friday sought a report from the Rajasthan government over six boys being electrocuted to death due to the alleged negligence of the state electricity department.
Twenty-two people also received burn injuries in the incident when their bus came in contact with a live wire in Churu district in Rajasthan.
"Notice have been issued to the district magistrate and superintendent of police of Churu and to the chairman, Rajasthan State Electricity Board, calling for reports in the matter within four weeks," an NHRC official said.
The victims were part of a marriage party. They were going to a village in Sardarshahr town when the incident occurred near Lodsar Village.
"This raises a serious issue of violation of human rights of the victims due to negligence of the electricity department in not properly maintaining electrical wires," said an official of NHRC.
